November is Missions Month at Calvary!
Kim and Raydon Haskins have both been in Chi Alpha (XA) as students and heard God’s call to make disciples through XA. Kim graduated from Scott County HS and then Eastern KY University followed by a few years in XA administration. Raydon graduated from Purdue NW.
They both did their XA internships at Purdue University, West Lafayette. It was there that Raydon and Kim became neighbors, co-workers and good friends. After one and a half years, Raydon moved on to Indiana State University in Terre Haute. While working on different campuses, Raydon and Kim began dating and in 2017 were married. In 2018 they moved to Indiana University to continue their journey with Jesus through Chi Alpha Campus Ministries.
On Sunday, November 11, we will host missionary associates, Rev. Tunya & Jerry Adams. They will be sharing how God has called them to minister to those with life-controlling issues.
“Thank you everyone for your prayers and financial support as we go around the state ‘Sharing the HOPE’ that ‘There is HOPE for Recovery, Kentucky.’
- Continue growing our local Recovery Ministry in Harrison County, KY
- Equip, Train and Support churches/communities in the state of Kentucky to start up their own Recovery/Support group Ministry using the Living Free Strategy. We believe God wants to start a new work in every county of Kentucky. That’s 120 new recovery ministries across our great state.”
The Adams are currently at 50% of their budget. They need to reach 100% by the end of this year.
On Sunday, November 18, David & Rebecca Hill will join us with an exciting report of the home missions ministry of City ComMission (Urban Outreach Network).
The Hills began urban ministry in 2007 and have a heart to help equip the body of Christ for compassion evangelism. They have a drive and a grace to bring pastors and churches together and their outreaches have impacted communities from New York City, to as far south as Florida and throughout the Midwest. The Hills live in Cincinnati, OH, with their three teenage children and the family dog.
“We serve pastors, churches, and cities through hope outreach events, mission team hosting, and consultation for congregations in transition. Our lead team is as diverse as America. We love our work! Our story is continuing in cities across America. Our leaders and volunteers believe that what a divided nation needs is a united church. We are continuing to serve…in a revival of compassion!”
Our Commitment Sunday is November 25th. This is the day that we will make our monthly Faith Promise Commitments for missions.
Our goals for the coming year are to continue to faithfully support our missionaries in giving and in prayer, as well as adding new missionaries and ministries, as funds allow. As a church, we want to continue to respond to crisis needs around the world. Our faithful giving each month is what makes reaching these goals possible.
As we give above and beyond our tithe, we believe God responds to our faithfulness and is able to take the gifts we place in His hands and do so much more than we could ever hope to do. Please prayerfully consider what God wants you to commit to support our missionary family each month in this coming year. Take a step of faith, trust God, and see how He can work in and through you.
We believe that ANY investment in God’s work to reach the lost will have eternal dividends for those that desperately need the Good News!
