Missions at Calvary
Pray – Give – Get Involved
We believe that the great commission is not a mere suggestion. Therefore, we take missions personally.
We know that not everyone is called everywhere. Oswald J. Smith once said, “You must go or send a substitute.” Sending is an important part of our missionary ministry at Calvary.
We take missions personally by making Faith Promise Pledges to give monthly to support missionaries and local ministries. Because of faithful giving, we support over 30 different missionaries and ministries.
Our missions support is not to a faceless organization. Our missionary family is balanced between home (U.S.) and world (foreign) missionaries. This number includes missionaries in sensitive countries, those ministering to unreached people groups, and local ministries that are touching lives right here in Elizabethtown and Hardin County, Kentucky.
Periodic updates and reports through letters, videos, and missionary guests at Calvary, encourages our continued investment and support in what God is doing in, and through, their lives.
Prayer is the number one request of those who serve in difficult areas of the world. This is another way that we take missions personally. God’s Word calls us to consistent intercessory prayer. Check out the pdf prayer guides available below to help you pray effectively for our missionaries.
At no other time in history does the theme Beyond Borders seem more appropriate than today. World borders have been tested with refugee crises. Ever-increasing globalization has stirred the world’s ethnicities, creating a truly planetary melting pot. International headlines help to put faces and situations in context with AGWM’s continued focus on reaching those who have not been reached. Our vision is to push Beyond Borders, bringing the gospel to places that have not yet heard about Jesus.
While many view border issues negatively, those challenges are creating enormous potential for a great spiritual harvest! People are most open when the status quo is shattered, and they find themselves ready to hear the gospel with open hearts.
And while much of the political news conveys a sense of border closing, reality is much different. Only God can truly close a door, and until then, AGWM will continue to push into countries and regions that are frontier territory!
